New day, new camera :)

Yesterday was my lucky day. The local PhotoCare shop had just one of the discontinued EOS 1000D left in stock, and today it's mine! Takes a while to get used to it, but it rocks .. !

Only thing wrong today is, I bought a polaroid filter for the camera, hoping to take some lovely blue-sky shots today, and guess what; it rains!

Can't even do self portraits today... the lighting in the bathroom forces the camera to use like a 2 second shutter time, and the least shake will blur it beyond recognition.. better wait for one of my mates to snap me and the cam with another OR fetch a mirror from somewhere.

So now I have a great camera and no money at all ..

"Hiya". That's my usual opening line. I like to keep my life relatively simple - a fact that counts for my shots too. I like photography, as do most people on flickr. The fact that I am 16 years old and have no experience with business-ish photography might just separate me from the rest of the pack, but who gives a damn thing? We're here to shoot, aren't we?!

I never attended a state school. Fact. Ever since I was a poor little 7-year old boy with blonde hair and a blue-striped sweater, I've attended a private school that is built up around creative stuff like painting, music etc. I love alternative stuff, whatever might that be - hippies, cherry cokes, name it. I have a thing for short poetry and drawings, but I'm not very good at any of them. Too bad ...

It's not more than half a year ago that I first jumped into the world of photography, armed with a Sony Cybershot W40 compact camera. Until recently, I was stuck with that little thing. Fortunately, lucky wind's blowing my way, and a Canon EOS 1000D with an EF-S 18-55mm and an EF 75-300mm tele is now in my hands. Love it!
